Who We Are

Jim Duncklee

Founder, Retired

After 15 years in education, Jim Duncklee pursued a long-developing interest and became an independent financial planner in 1989. Starting Jim Duncklee & Associates as a part-time operation, Jim’s early success soon resulted in his leaving education to provide financial services on a full-time basis. In 2010, the name of the business transitioned to Duncklee & Nott when Ken became a partner, and after 30 years of working with clients, Jim retired in 2018.

Ken Nott, CFP®

Financial Advisor

Ken joined Duncklee & Associates early in 2005 and became a partner in 2010, thereby forming Duncklee & Nott. Like Jim, Ken started out as a teacher and a coach. Upon joining Duncklee & Associates, he worked behind the scenes, managing accounts. Over the years, he has introduced new clients, monitored accounts, and recommended and executed changes in existing accounts. Ken also manages all of the group retirement plans.

Ken earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Maine at Farmington. He has life, health, and variable insurance licenses, as well as the FINRA Series 7, 24, and 66 securities registrations (held through Commonwealth Financial Network). He also holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification, as well as the Accredited Investment Fiduciary®, Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor, and Certified Fund Specialist® designations.

Ken lives in Farmingdale, Maine, with his wife, Carolyn, who is an elementary school teacher. They have two young children. In addition to spending time with his family, Ken enjoys playing sports, coaching youth soccer, and rallying behind the New England Patriots.
